An 18-year-old is dead and five teenagers are injured following a crash on Gasberry Lane in Webster Sunday morning, according to police. 

Upon arrival by Webster police, officers found a vehicle crashed into a tree and the engine compartment on fire.

Police say all occupants were removed from the vehicle by an area resident prior to their arrival. The driver, 18-year-old Brody D. Spade of Webster, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The five other occupants, ages 16 to 18, were transported to area hospitals, according to police. Those individuals are hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

“Early investigation indicates that speed was a contributing factor in this accident,” police said in a statement. “This investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as the investigation allows.”
