Rochester police have released the name of a man who died after being hit by a car on Monday.

Officers say it happened around 3 a.m. on Union Street near Weld Street. They say the driver did not stop.

The victim has been identified as D-Markos Trammel, 33, of Rochester. He was rushed to the hospital but later died.

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates there was no foul play prior to the accident. According to some witnesses, the man may have been laying in the street when he was struck by the car. Police believe the driver may not have even known they had hit a person.
