A New Jersey man has been arrested following incidents of sexual assault on the Nazareth College Campus in Pittsford.

State police say Kenneth Rea of Manahawkin was taken into custody by the Troop E Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit on Monday. He's charged with three counts of third-degree sexual abuse. The alleged incidents took place on May 3.

Nazareth College addressed the investigation in a statement on Tuesday:

"Nazareth College is committed to protecting the safety of our students. In cases like this, we are also committed to the privacy of all parties involved in order to foster an environment where students feel safe to report. Due to the sensitive and confidential nature of this case, no details will be shared. We offer the assurance that there is no threat to the campus community and we defer to the New York State Police, the lead agency on this investigation."

Rea was processed by state police in Rochester and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Pittsford Court on October 24.
