A weekslong trial has ended in a double murder conviction for a Rochester man.

The Monroe County district attorney says a jury convicted Syjesman Brown Friday on two counts of murder, along with counts of attempted murder, robbery, weapons possession and larceny.

Prosecutors say Brown stabbed Alexander Powell to death on Miller Street in May 2017, then two days later, the body of David Jones Jr. was found in Genesee Valley Park.

Prosecutors say Brown tried to kill a third man in July 2017, and was arrested, along with Imani Williams.

Williams was convicted earlier this month of robbery and attempted grand larceny in connection with that third incident.

Brown will be sentenced in early July.
