With the bitter cold set to keep Western New York and the Finger Lakes region in a deep freeze, the Rochester City School District will remain closed Wednesday for the second straight day.
Mayor Malik Evans says all city R-Centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, providing a snack and a dinner to students while the schools are closed.
“We want residents to be prepared for the extreme wind chills forecasted over the next day or two,” Evans said in a statement. “The R-Centers will be open to help students stay safe and warm, with food and activities during this time.”
