Brighton police have identified three people who they say died in an apparent murder-suicide.

Police say Anne Mancuso, 11, and her grandmother, Mary Liccini, 74, were both fatally shot on Friday.

Police say they believe Anne's father, Lawrence Mancuso, 53, was responsible for their deaths before taking his own life.

Anne was found unresponsive and not breathing at a home on Hollyvale Drive. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries.

The bodies of her grandmother and father were later found in an adjacent home.

Brighton Central School District says Anne was a sixth-grade student at Twelve Corners Middle School.

In a statement, they send their condolences saying in part: "Annie was known to her friends and teachers as a kind, sweet, and beautiful person in every way. A thoughtful, caring student and very special friend, Annie was such a gift to her friends, family, and school community. "

Counseling support for students and staff will be available Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
