The city of Rochester is sharing guidelines for those who wish to stop by one of the city's most visited Election Day landmarks.

Officials say the headstone of women's rights icon Susan B. Anthony at Mount Hope Cemetery will be accessible to visitors between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday. While the cemetery will close to new visitors at 5 p.m., those still inside the cemetery will be allowed to stay in line.

Early voters headed out in droves this past week to place their "I Voted" stickers on Anthony's headstone.

In 2020, the city began placing plexiglass covers on the markers for Anthony and her sister Mary to protect the marble.

City officials say security will be on hand as well as members of the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery and the Rochester Police Department, who will assist with pedestrians crossing. Drivers are asked to park on Robinson Drive and walk across Mount Hope Avenue to the cemetery entrance.
