IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Everyone's invited to a free art and music festival happening in Irondequoit Saturday. I-Square will be the place to be for the second annual Irondequoit Arts & Music Festival.

  • The event runs 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Aug. 31
  • There will be more than 40 artists on hand at the event

More than 40 artists will be at the festival selling their original artworks and crafts. Eight bands, including headliner Into the Now, will be playing live for the all-day festival. Live performances at the event include includes jazz, acoustic guitar, a blues swing group, singer-songwriters, 80s dance music and an African drumming performance. 

"It is a labor of love for us. We do not make money. It is all sponsor-based. I reached out to all the Irondequoit businesses. We all thought it was a great idea and something that of us really want to have in the Irondequoit community," said Chris Blaine, co-founder of the Irondequoit Arts & Music Festival. "Between all of us, we have the experience to mix it all together and make a festival. We thought last year was successful and we are going to build on that." 

"We really just truly love sharing original art vendors and live bands. There are so many talented musicians in the Rochester area," added Craig Foster, event co-organizer.

The second annual Irondequoit Arts & Music Festival takes place this Saturday at I-Square on Bakers Park at Titus Ave.
