  • The festival is free to attend

Harborfest helps mark the start of summer along Rochester's waterfront with all kinds of free family events including live music, carousel rides, arts and crafts, sand sculptures, food, a boat parade of lights, a circus aerial show and more.

Jim Farr and the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee invite everyone to visit Charlotte.

"It's a very diverse crowd down here and it is mostly families and that is what we love to see," Farr said. "It is a place that families can come and have free summer entertainment. That's what the whole weekend is about, just coming down and having a great time. You can buy food from food vendors and you can also have a picnic and do whatever you want to do. The beach will be open and the new water park area is open. So it's a great time to come down and experience Charlotte."

Harborfest opens Friday at noon and continues through Sunday until 4 p.m.
