ROCHESTER, N.Y. — "Choose Love" has been the Buffalo Bills motto for the past two years; it's written on players helmets, merchandise and the field the game is played on. Now, one 10-year-old fan is taking his passion for spreading kindness to the big leagues.

“They’re my favorite team,” said Logan Bittner. “5 [years old], that’s when I went to my first game.”

What You Need To Know

  • 10-year-old Logan Bittner has been a diehard Buffalo Bills fan since he was 5 years old
  • He and his family have made, and brought, at least a thousand friendship bracelets to games to spread kindness to fans and players
  • Bittner recently sent a welcome gift to the NFL's 33rd overall pick, Keon Coleman, to welcome him to Buffalo
  • The wide receiver wore Bittner's friendship bracelets in his NFLPA's rookie photoshoot

Bittner knows a lot about his favorite NFL team.

“One of their kickers in the '90s was Steve Christie,” he said. “The Bills are named after Buffalo Bill Cody. They won a championship before the Super Bowl era.”

He started bringing Bills-themed friendship bracelets to preseason games last year. He offers them for free on homemade signs for players and fellow fans. Each bracelet is a little different. His favorite part is picking out phrases to add on to them like, ‘Go Bills,' ‘Allen and Diggs BFFs,' or even a phrase from a show him and Josh Allen both enjoy: ‘Just a little 'sticious.'

“To give to the players to spread love,” he explained as to why he started his project.

Stefon Diggs was the first player to accept one of his little gifts, and Tre'Davious White was also a fan of the gesture. However, his favorite player has always been Khalil Shakir, who’s gone out of his way so much as to take a selfie with the junior Bills Mafia member.

Last year, he sent a letter and some bracelets to Josh Allen. This year, he went on to send them as a welcome gift to the NFL’s 33rd overall pick, Keon Coleman.

“This is Coleman’s number. Number zero,” Bittner showed.

Along with a couple of friendship bracelets, he sent a letter to Coleman with recommendations on where to get the best chocolate chip cookies and pizza in Buffalo. He says Imperial is the best pizza around, and Wegmans’ ultimate chocolate chip cookies are the best.

“I never thought it was going to get to him. And I’m very excited it did,” he exclaimed.

Coleman’s gift was well-received. The Bills new wide receiver recently wore Bitter’s bracelets in his NFLPA’s rookie photoshoot. The pictures went viral with Bitter’s personalized letter on X.

“Special, happy, and kind — and excited,” Bittner explained how he felt when he saw Coleman’s new accessories.

Bittner goes with his parents, Krystle and Colin Bittner, to the games, as his family has season seats. His parents help him out once in a while, but mostly just for tying the bracelets once they’re completed. They say they’ve probably made at least 1,000 bracelets so far.

Both parents say they couldn’t be more proud of their son for actively spreading his kindness to strangers.

“It’s been incredible watching you sit and focus and spread kindness like you want to, right Logie? It’s been nice seeing your confidence grow. Mommy thinks it’s been amazing for your confidence, especially with the letter. He struggles a little bit with his handwriting, so his letter’s really being passed all over the place,” his mom said. “Logan is a very, very kind guy. It makes me very, very proud to see him spreading kindness and love and seeing how many people, how many people have embraced that, as well.”

Little Bittner is just happy his message is getting out there.

“Thank you for wearing my bracelet, and thank you for caring,” he smiled. “Go Bills. Win the Super Bowl.”
