The man behind two of Rochester's most infamous crimes is a free man.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirms Albert Ranieri, 59, was released from their custody Friday.
In 1990, Ranieri was the driver behind an armored truck heist in Henrietta and helped steal $10.8 million.
He later admitted to killing Anthony Vaccaro, a business owner who helped launder some of those millions, in Greece about 10 years later.
In 2002, Ranieri admitted to both crimes, pleading guilty to a racketeering charge in federal court.
He was sentenced to serve three decades behind bars.
