The Rochester Police Department is partnering with several organizations in an effort to help find missing kids more quickly.

Child identification kits will be available at a number of locations across the city.

They are designed for children ages 4 to 18 and include an ink-less fingerprinting kit, medical information section, DNA section and identification information for your child.

"God forgive something happened to your child, with your child going missing," RPD Capt. Greg Bello said. "All that information is complied in one place that you could then hand over to law enforecment, to the search teams [and] to the investigators that are looking for your child. And that way, should something happen to your child, your not trying to accumulate all that information later. You're not trying to find a picture, and struggling to find a recent picture of your child. You're not struggling to find their medical records or dental records, or things along those lines, when time is of the essence because your child is missing."

These free kits can be found at the following locations:

  • Northwest Quadrant Neighborhood Service Center – 400 Dewey Ave.
