What You Need To Know

  • WTA, WTA CARES and the American Federation of Teachers have partnered with First Book, Webster CSD and Webster PTSA to give away 40,000 free children’s books during the Fall Into Reading Festival

  • WTA’s Fall Into Reading Festival is Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Webster Thomas High School Field House, 800 Five Mile Line Road

  • The festival will also have food trucks and family activities

The festival is open to all area families, educators and school staff members. Books will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Families can select up to ten free books per child for home libraries with a maximum of 30 books per family.

"We have titles all the way from K to 12,” said Craig Johnville from WTA Cares. “We have board books and even Pre-K. We are giving 50 books out per educator. All you have to do is register with First Book. We will have an opportunity to sign up the day itself at the registration tables. We want to give out as many books as possible. We are not hanging onto these. We want them in the hands of people and we want kids reading.”

The festival will also have food trucks and family activities.

The WTA thanks the American Federation of Teachers and First Book for the grants to make this event possible.
