Greece American Legion Post 468 is hoping you’ll stop by Saturday for 12 hours of live music to help raise money for wounded veterans at the 12th Annual Warrior Benefit Concert happening at the Legion on Dorsey Road.
Saturday’s Warrior Benefit Concert starts with a motorcade escort and Greece American Legion Color Guard. It’s all about the red, white and blue and the men and women who served—active duty, retired and disabled veterans. Post 468 cares about you.
Veteran marine Mark Ostrander joined the Legion 13 years ago. He can’t say enough about what the support in the friendship has meant to him.
“It’s a family,” Ostrander said. “It’s like being kind of back in and the camaraderie and the bond that I find here. I should’ve joined sooner. I never did. My wife got sick a couple of different times and they were there to support us and help us in everything that we needed. It’s a wonderful family.”
Ostrander and a dozen volunteers are sharing that support with the community and other local veterans for a day long concert— live music both inside and outside the Legion Saturday. Every dollar of the $20 tickets goes to the New York Warrior Alliance and the Patriot Guard Riders NY HOTH program.
“The beauty of both of these organizations is for every dollar I give them a dollar goes out,” Ostrander said. “It is a 100% payout to our veterans and those recovering from wounds and those veterans in need. It’s two great causes.”
The event is Saturday, Aug. 12 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Greece Legion Post 468, 344 Dorsey Road. Tickets are $20.
