The public library is so much more than books. Some of the unexpected things you might find circulating at the library include sewing machines, ukuleles, framed artwork, fishing poles and lots of recorded music.
What You Need To Know
- The Very Important Places (VIP) pass provides a substantial discount to enjoy the best of Rochester and Monroe County’s arts and cultural treasures
- All you need is a valid MCLS library card to inquire at any participating library to check out a VIP Pass
- There are more than two dozen attractions participating in the 2023-2024 VIP Pass Program
The “VIP Pass,” which stands for “Very Important Places,” has some buy-one-get-one-free and 50% off admission to some super cool places. There are more than two dozen attractions participating in the 2023-2024 VIP Pass Program. All you need is a valid Monroe County Library System library card to inquire at any participating library about a VIP Pass.
“The Rochester Museum and Science Center or the Corning Museum of Glass and the Genesee Country Village and Museum,” said Amy Henderson from the Irondequoit Public Library. “There are lots of different places in the Rochester community where they can go and learn about the history of Rochester, or go visit a new park or beautiful space that we have in the area that they need admission to.”
The Empire Pass is also very popular. This pass is a free admission pass to New York State Parks. Head to the library and check out a new summer adventure.
