It just wouldn’t be summer without fire department carnivals happening in a town near you. Hilton is the place to be as the rides and games take over the fireman's field Thursday through Saturday.
There’s plenty of twists, turns and spins happening on more than two dozen rides. There’s plenty of food options, cold drinks and live music at the Hilton Fire Department Carnival.
There’s just something nostalgic about the carnival. From a mini rollercoaster for the kiddos to the cool Hilton village views from the Ferris wheel or hop on a horse for some merry-go-round fun, or if you dare hop on the Orbiter. I just wouldn’t eat before you do.
The Hilton Fire Department Carnival is a more than 125-year tradition. It pulls in all things local with proceeds supporting the fire department and others like the Walker Fire Department and its steamed clams sale.
“It helps out with our expenses for the year that everyone has,” said Andy Nichols of the Hilton Fire Department. “Everything is volunteer. We are 100% volunteer. There is no paid staff for us. It’s a great community event that we enjoyed putting him. It’s going to be here for a long time.”
The Hilton Fire Department Carnival is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. Unlimited ride bracelets are $25.
