One of the largest secondhand super sale fundraisers in Monroe County opens next week. The Saint’s Place sale in Pittsford has got it all, and proceeds help the nonprofit help refugees new to Greater Rochester.
Volunteers are busy unpacking, sorting and pricing all kinds of merchandise that will be for sale at Saint Louis church campus in the village of Pittsford, July 5-8.

“I am super amazed. We’ve got a very generous Rochester community," said Michele Quinn, Saint's Place associate director.
There are more than six rooms full of designer handbags, jewelry, sporting goods, tools, electronics, artwork, pottery, furniture and glassware. All of it was donated to Saint’s Place that is celebrating 25 years of helping legal refugees.
“So when it comes out of all these different storage areas, it is amazing. We are truly amazed this year at how much stuff we have," said Quinn. "This year we helped just over 1,200 newly arrived refugees with housing, clothing, educational needs and a washer-dryer program that we have. We are always looking for new and better ways to help refugees so it is an ongoing process of us earning money to help the refugees more.”
In its 25 years of service, Saint’s Place has assisted 31,000 people. They are already expecting another 1,400 refugees later this summer.
The Saint’s Place super sale begins next Wednesday, July 5 with a $10 admission “First Chance Sale,” from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. It continues with free admission Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with all items 50% off and Saturday, it’s open 9 a.m. until sold out with the $10 stuff a bag sale.
The St. Louis Church campus is located at 64 South Main Street in Pittsford. The sale is expected to raise $150,000.
