GREECE, N.Y. — A high-energy international acrobatic circus is in Rochester for the first time. Flip Circus is performing under the big tent in Greece through July 3.

What You Need To Know

  • Flip Circus was created by the Vazquez family
  • It features an international cast of acrobatic circus stars who defy gravity
  • Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. weekdays and 1:00, 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays now through July 3

The big red and white top tent is set up in the parking lot near the former Sears store at Greece Ridge Mall. The two-hour live show is happening inside the air-conditioned, 800-seat tent. Every seat is less than 50 feet away from all the live action.

Spectrum News 1 had a chance to meet some of the performers during rehearsals. There are acrobats from Africa doing some high flying flips, trapeze artists from Columbia, tumblers from Italy and acrobats from Ukraine.

“Yes, we have a two-hour live show with a live orchestra and great acts and performers from all over the world. They are from Italy, Ukraine and everywhere. It’s a very nice good family show for adults and kids,” said Nikita Vostnikof, an acrobat from Ukraine.

Stiv Bello is clowning around all the way from Italy.

“We have a lot of families like myself and my daughter who is working here with us,” said Bello. “These guys are from Africa and we have people from Columbia and Ukraine so we all come from different parts of the world with different mentality but once we are all in the circus, it is true we are really a family.”

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. weekdays with three shows a day on the weekend. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased online at flipcircus.com or right at the box office at the big top tent.
