ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s a whodunit of an opening night for a live murder mystery performance at the Theater at Innovation Square in Rochester and Spectrum News 1 got a look at the final dress rehearsal with the detective duo Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson in the production of "Sherlock Holmes: the Loss at Whitechapel."

It’s a quick-witted dialogue chasing clues to solve the case with an ensemble dance scenes to tell the story. It's also a dancing play. Dramastic Dance Works and Rawhide Theatre Company are performing together for what is truly a unique, contemporary choreographed show.

The cast and crew is from all over the East Coast. Olivia Fabian, a 2018 Greece Athena grad, is part of the dance ensemble.

“It is really full circle because I get to come home and perform in my hometown and I will have a lot of loved ones in the audience so it makes performing that much more fun. I feel the energy and love from everyone from home so it is a really great opportunity,” said Fabian.

Dwight Trice Jr. plays Dr. John Watson. He can’t wait to share this murder mystery through acting, dance and a rotating set.

“In my experience, I really haven’t had a production that has told a story in this way. It is very unique in that as I said that the coupling of theater and kind of like a classic like play acting in this modern, contemporary dance that’s happening as well. It is this kind of new, fun thing of its own,” said Trice Jr.
