What You Need To Know

  • Crime Stoppers works with law enforcement to provide tools that help citizens communicate through anonymous means to help prevent and solve crimes

  • Donations stay local and support programs and services in our community

  • The Valentine's online raffle will support the K9 Initiative and the Rochester Police Locust Club's Anthony Mazurkiewicz Scholarship for students

Longtime Crime Stopper volunteer board member Joyce Palumbo is putting together some awesome prizes for the second annual Crime Stoppers Valentine's fundraiser. Local businesses donated all of the items including a guitar autographed by Lou Gramm.

Crime Stoppers does so much to support K9s around Monroe County. Raffle proceeds will support K9 initiatives and the Rochester Police Locust Club scholarship program. The latest is in honor of fallen RPD officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz who was killed in the line of duty last July.

“Crime Stoppers has become such a community program,” said Joyce Palumbo, Crime Stoppers board member. “A lot of people think of us as a reward fund, which we are an anonymous tip line. But, we also reach out to the community. We form partnerships with local businesses. This year we wanted to help the Locust Club. We were able to get some big ticket items from very generous donors. This is something that we do. We have a lot of love for people in law enforcement and we want to support them.”

You can purchase raffle tickets online at roccrimestoppers.com. Raffle tickets start at $10 for 15 entries. You can buy tickets until Friday, Feb. 10. The drawing is Saturday, Feb. 11.
