​​​ROCHESTER, N.Y. — ​As the investigation into a man for repeated alleged sexual offenses against women in Rochester, Rochester police fear there could be more victims.

"You could call him a serial rapist at this point, right?" Rochester Police Department Lt. Greg Bello. "Some people are and I'm not going to dispute that. He's certainly a chronic sexual offender over the last several months, at least, four instances that we're aware of."

Bello is referring to 26-year-old Hayden Cypressi, who was arrested on Wednesday and arraigned on Thursday. Cypressi is charged with rape in the first degree, three counts of attempted rape, and four counts of sexual abuse.

“By the end of last week, we had a firm idea that he'd committed the one incident and possibly a second. There were other incidents that came up in terms of possibly being related, but we had no direct evidence at that time. We had nothing firmly linking him to any of those other incidents at that time," said Bello.

An intensive investigation over the weekend, including following the suspect, gave police what they needed to make an arrest for an alleged incident from October. Then during the arrest and investigative process police say they were able to link Cypressi to three additional incidents.

He’s accused of accosting women on two occasions near Park Ave and Culver Road, on October 29 and July 23. Cypressi is charged with an attack on August 27 near Park and Goodman St. and for an incident near East and Culver on May 1.

“We're encouraging people with any additional information about him, about potential sexual assaults or potentially being followed from the bar district over there to certainly reach out to us," said Lt. Bello.

Cypressi remains in custody, held on $1,000,000 cash bail, $2,000,000 bond, or a $4,000,000 partially secured bond.
