ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Genesee Keg Tree is once again going up this holiday season.

City of Rochester and Monroe County officials, along with representatives from Genesee Brewing, announced the lighting of this year’s keg tree is set for Dec. 2.

The event will feature several food trucks and beer trucks.

Keg tree construction is slated to start later this month.

The tree will be made up of 532 kegs reaching nearly three stories tall with close to 30,000 lights.

Genesee Brewing says it will also donate a dollar from the sale of every Christmas Tree Ale this season to the Open Door Mission.

“What’s more Rochester than hanging out with thousands of people outside in December and drinking cold beer around a Genesee Keg Tree?” Genesee brand director Jaime Polisoto said in a statement. “This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever!”

“I can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season than experiencing the spectacular Keg Tree display at the Genesee Brew House,” Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said in a statement. “The Genesee Brewery is a fixture of this community, and I encourage all who are able to head to the Keg Tree to commemorate its return to the Rochester skyline.”

If you miss the Dec. 2 lighting event, the keg tree will be lit through the beginning of January.
