Rochester’s state lawmakers are playing up line items to help the Flower City in the recently passed New York state budget.
That includes $59.6 million to renovate the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
Lawmakers said renovations will help attract conventions and events to the East Main Street location downtown.
"We know when that happens, those folks that are here visiting Rochester go out and they spend money on our restaurants, our diners and hotels, and also visit our museums and the like," said Assemblyman Harry Bronson, (D - NY138)
The New York State Legislature finally approved the budget ealier this month after weeks of battles.
