ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District will have a new leader at the helm as it starts the 2022-23 school year.

Less than two weeks from the first day of classes, Dr. Carmine Peluso has been selected as the acting superintendent.

Dr. Peluso was serving the district as the deputy superintendent of operations and administration.

Dr. Lesli Myers-Small is currently on leave facing harassment allegations. She is currently negotiating her exit with the Board of Education after just two years of her 4-year contract.

Peluso takes the role during stalled contract negotiations between the district and the Rochester Teachers Association.
