ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Highland Park's Lamberton Conservatory is filled with hundreds of homegrown poinsettias of red, pink and white that are on display now through January 19.
The greenhouse is a great place to be in December. The holiday display at Lamberton Conservatory includes more than 500 poinsettias.
Mark Quinn, Noelle Nagel and the Monroe County horticultural team have done it again. They've put together a colorful and festive display throughout the conservatory. Every poinsettia in the conservatory was grown in Monroe County greenhouses. Five times a year they change up the show. The holiday display features 20 varieties of poinsettias and 10,000 holiday lights.
"This is probably one of our better years of poinsettias," said Mark Quinn, superintendent of Monroe County Horticulture. "People just love to see it and it’s really, really good to have people coming in and having a place to be warm and happy this time of year. It is really a pleasant place to be.”
The Holiday Botanical Show wraps up on January 19. Admission to the conservatory is $3 and $2 for seniors. You can purchase a $10 pass for access to the conservatory year-round.
Lamberton Conservatory is open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are extended holiday hours every Friday and Sunday until 9 p.m. to enjoy the holiday lights.
