ROCHESTER, N.Y. — You can get a feel for what roamed the earth more than 65 million years ago with ten animatronic dinosaurs and other interactive displays at the Rochester Museum and Science Center's newest exhibit.

What You Need To Know

  • The new exhibit brings dinosaurs to life through roaring, moving robotic replicas

  • There's a wide range of hands-on, interactive experiences and brain teasing puzzles

  • Become a paleontologist with excavation tools to help you explore

Expedition Dinosaur is a roaring and moving journey through the prehistoric world. RMSC wants you to dig up some adventures and check out the dino-sized happenings now through April at the new exhibit. The dinosaurs have animatronics that help bring the big guys to life. There’s even a climbable T-Rex and excavation tools to start digging for replica dinosaur bones.

"Dinosaurs capture everyone’s imagination from 2 to 102," said Hillary Olson, president & CEO of RMSC. "Being able to have dinosaurs here and really not just talk about the dinosaurs, which are cool, and watching the animatronics and the life-size dinosaurs come to life, but it also talks about paleontology and the bone wars of the late 1800s and how people were fighting and trying to find these once they realized what they were and that they were over 65 million years old. It is a really interesting story about science and scientific discovery and paleontology. Everyone is going to love the story and of course the dinosaurs."

Expedition Dinosaur is so big it takes up pretty much the entire third floor at RMSC. Exhibition Dinosaur admission starts at $18 and includes access to exhibits throughout the museum. The dino exhibit is free for RMSC members.
