If you're a fan of haunted houses or haunted hayrides, you can kill two birds with one stone in the Capital Region this weekend. Visit Double M Haunted Hayrides in the Ballston Spa / Malta area for a scary fun time.

You’ll find screams around every corner of this 38-acre property. Four themed haunted houses and the popular mile long hayride.

Leo Martin is the man behind the scares. He and his family have been running this seasonal attraction for 31 years, overseeing 120 employees with a focus on authenticity.

“It’s detail work,” Martin said. “You gotta look the part. If you want to be a zombie, you gotta look like a zombie.”

Leo’s 18-year-old son Max is the general manager and a tour guide.

Checking into the “Last Inn” was an experience. From the commitment of the characters to the theme of each room.

Next up - a mile of chills and thrills on the haunted hay ride. The ride through these woods was filled with zombies, chainsaw-wielding maniacs, a demented circus and some familiar scary faces.

And even if you know it’s coming, theses frights are guaranteed to get your heart racing.

If you are looking to make a reservation, Saturday is a peak night for Double M, but they are also open Sunday on Halloween. Click here for more information.
