A native New Yorker, Casey Bortnick graduated from SUNY Brockport with a degree in broadcast journalism and from SUNY Morrisville with Associates degree in Journalist Technology. Casey recently celebrated his 20th year in broadcasting after stops in Jamestown, Rochester, Buffalo and Albany. He was promoted to the anchor desk in 2012 after serving as a Video Journalist, Health Reporter, and General Assignment reporter with a focus in politics.
Casey is a decorated journalist, with six RTDNA Regional Edward R. Murrow awards and multiple New York Associated Press Broadcasters awards. He was also nominated for a NY Emmy for writing in 2011.
The youngest of five children, Casey grew up in NY’s North Country. A former college football player, Casey remains active and enjoys spending time with his family. He is a dog lover and an avid sports fan, passionately following the New York Jets, the New York Mets and Boston Celtics. When it comes to college sports, you’ll find him rooting for Notre Dame Football and Duke Basketball.
