ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police have released the names of the two victims who died following a quadruple shooting on the city's northwest side early Sunday morning.

Police say that around 2:30 a.m. they responded to the 300 Block of Driving Park where a party was taking place with 75 to 100 people in one of the buildings. Police say a gunman opened fire in a crowded alleyway.

According to investigators, Jimmie Jones, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene. They say Sharif Clark, 23, was pronounced dead shortly after being brought to the University of Rochester Medical Center.

A third victim, a man in his 30s, remains in critical condition at URMC. The fourth victim, a woman in her 20s, was treated at Rochester General Hospital and released.

The shooting comes one year to the day of a mass shooting on Pennsylvania Avenue in Rochester, one that is still top of mind for officers.

"That Pennsylvania Ave. mass shooting occurred September 19 at 12 in the evening. The tragedy tonight took place on September 19 at 2 in the morning,” said Rochester Police Captain Frank Umbrino. “Just about a two-hour time difference. [It is] certainly sad [and] certainly disheartening. And it makes you wonder what type of progress we've made since then and what have we learned as a community since then, and what can we do differently to try to prevent these tragedies from happening again in the future."

Police still have no one in custody in connection to last year's shooting and no one is in custody from Sunday morning's shooting.

Police say everyone fled the scene as they arrived, and no witnesses have come forward. They are asking anyone with information or cell phone video to call the RPD Major Crimes Unit at 585-428-7157 or Crime Stoppers at 585-423-9300. Callers may also contact 911.
