PARMA, N.Y. — A retail business in Parma is stepping up to help dogs in need.

The Estate Marketplace co-op on West Ridge Road is hosting a dog adoption event with foster volunteers from the rescue group, Operation Freedom Ride.

The pet adoption event, "The Lucky Puppy Adoption," will take place at the Estate Marketplace Sunday. Operation Freedom Ride will have 25 puppies and dogs available for adoption and are hoping to match each and every dog with a perfect forever home.

Volunteers at Operation Freedom Ride are caring for a couple dozen dogs in need. Most of the dogs traveled all the way from Tennessee.

Kate Czarnicki has adopted two rescue dogs. She’s also a volunteer foster dog mom. She’s fostered nine dogs so far, and is hoping to find a new loving home for "Bailey."

"I think that their ability to put the right dogs with the right families is such a huge part as to why they are such a successful rescue organization," Czarnicki said.

"Macchiato" will also be there on Sunday unless he’s adopted before then.

If you’ve ever been to the Estate Marketplace, you know owner Joe Battaglia loves a good deal, good people, and his rescue dog "Tucker," who is the star here and why Joe is hosting the adoption event.

“You don’t just save the dogs you know there are a lot of instances where dogs save people to and I am a true believer in that and they just need love. I think being a part of the community and helping that happened I just know in my heart it is the right thing to do,” Battaglia said.

At last year‘s dog adoption event at Estate Marketplace, every dog was adopted.
