IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — ​Irondequoit has a free family event to get you out of the house and exploring the town.

The I-Town Adventure Game, Saturday, February 13, will have you searching for clues in this town scavenger hunt. It’s a great time to get out and about to just about every corner in Irondequoit at places to the north, south, east, and west.

  • Collect all the clues to be eligible to enter to win a prize

Ginny Nacy loves Irondequoit. She's lived here for more than 55 years. Nacy's organization, "Drug-Free Irondequoit: Together," and the town parks and recreation department put the scavenger hunt together.

"We are really trying to work on getting the word out to everybody that this is just for fun," said Nacy. "We have some activities along the way that involve some ideas for coping skills and ways to keep people engaged without using any substances and be able to just have some fun."

There are clues located around Irondequoit at 13 different businesses and landmarks. To get your first clue, head to dfitogther.org. Each location with have a QR code and those codes will provide a clue to the next clue location. Collect all the codes and unscramble a message and submit that final clue to parksandrec@irondequoit.org to be entered to win a prize pack.

The scavenger hunt is open to everyone. It runs February 13-21. You have to enter that final clue message by February 24 to be eligible to be entered in to win a prize.
