ROCHESTER, N.Y. — For families that don't have the time or maybe a ladder tall enough to tackle the tedious task of hanging Christmas lights, there's a Rochester company you can hire to do it for you.

Jeigh VanBerg and his Intrigue D’Zines team will unpack, sort, untangle and test every strand and hang any and all holiday lights for homeowners.

"I am an artist," said VanBerg. "To me, this is my canvas and I will spend time looking at the house and thinking of the best things to go where and what colors and this and that."

Intrigue D’Zines decorates 30 to 40 houses every holiday season around Rochester, outside and inside. The crew was decorating a house in Penfield. VanBerg says the homeowners are hospice care workers.

"They said that their son has been so upset because school is not going well so they want to brighten his Christmas up," he said. "They don’t have time, so this is the perfect opportunity to call us. We are giving her children exactly what they want for Christmas this year."

Holiday light installation prices vary depending on the size of your house and the number of decorations. It’ll cost anywhere from $150 to upwards of $1,000.

For Jeigh, it’s the Christmas tree he put up in the front window of his Intrigue Remedies store on Atlantic Ave. in Rochester that means a lot these days. Each $10 purple ornament he sells he donate the proceeds to HOPE Dealers BTC, an outreach group that supports anyone affected by addiction. Jeigh lost a good friend to an overdose.

“Anybody going through anything, we are trying to give people support. I know a lot of people are going through hard times and it’s just little things like this that we can do I can raise our days," said VanBerg.

Christmas ornaments tell a story, so for Jeigh, if he can help families get in the spirit of the season with holiday decorations, that’s what it’s all about for him.

"If it spreads just the positive energy of lights and the positive energy of Christmas spirit then it’s a plus and we can use that here in the community," he said.
