Funeral arrangements for Assemblyman David Gantt have been released. Gantt died July 1, five months short of the end of what would be his last term representing the 138th District. He was 78 years old.

The public is invited to view his body laying in state at the Church of Love Faith Center on Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Due to the pandemic, the church will be reduced to half capacity and all those wishing to attend must wear a mask.

Gantt's funeral service follows Saturday at the same location at 10 a.m. Due to that reduced capacity, just family and close friends will be in attendance.

Spectrum News is told that the funeral will be on Facebook Live for the public to watch. Details on the virtual ceremony will be forthcoming, according to Gantt's office.

Instead of flowers, the family asks for donations made to several local scholarships.
