A piece of American and Rochester history is now enshrined in the Library of Congress.

Editions of "The North Star" newspaper, which was edited by Frederick Douglass, have been cataloged and now have a permanent home there.

The North Star was created and printed in Rochester beginning in 1847. The library also has editions of two other papers edited and printed by Douglass and his sons.
