The Riot Room on East Avenue in Rochester is a bar, art gallery and arcade with some throwback games from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

This week, it will host its first-ever skee-ball league.

“Yes, it’s Thursday night [November 7],” Ralph DiTucci, The Riot Room said. “We are excited because it is our very first round of Rochester skee-ball league. It'll be teams of three competing against each other for drinks and prizes.”

The bar itself is a piece of art: it’s made out of a shipping container from Syracuse. Murals from artists like Thievin’ Stephen cover the walls and bar. There's also a smash-it-up demolition room and weekly video game tournaments.

“You'd be surprised who you see in there smashing,” DiTucci added. “There are plenty of places to go watch the game, that is not what we are focused on. We want people to mingle and play games together and enjoy some of the art and culture that downtown has to offer."

The Riot Room has a "VHS wall." It’s covered in 100s of VHS tapes. It’s become a popular selfie-spot for social media posts.

"Yes, we have seen a lot of photos go up against this wall,” he said. “It's easy to see why when you see all the movies from our childhood and growing up."

The social club is open Tuesday- Sunday.
