A teenager accused of stealing an undercover police car was in court Tuesday morning.

Geoffrey Rogers, 17, pleaded not guilty to grand larceny and other charges.

Police said Rogers was seen running across a parking lot and taking an unmarked car without permission, then threatening someone at a gas station.

"I think anytime a police car is stolen that’s very concerning here,” said prosecutor Daniel Strollo.   “Not only because of the loss of tax payer assets but also that impairment of the ability of the police do to their job effectively without their equipment."

Rogers declined to provide a comment as he left the courthouse.
