Here's a fun way to get out and discover some new places to go to in Irondequoit.

The town's annual Scavenger Hunt: Taste of Irondequoit is happening this Saturday between noon and 3 p.m. There are seven destinations on the clue list.

Those who successfully solve the riddles will get a chance to sample a good mix of food items at those small businesses located throughout town.

"We love it here. We are very excited for this event on Saturday and we are hoping for a lot of people come. We had a great turnout last year,” said Elaine Pelissier of the Irondequoit Realtor Group.

"That is part of the idea to market the town not only to the people who live in the town but to people who live outside the borders who might be thinking of moving and joining a new community,” said Irondequoit Town Supervisor Dave Seeley. “One of our biggest strengths is our collection of independent small businesses that I think distinguishes us.”

The scavenger hunt is free and begins at Irondequoit's Town Hall campus on Titus Avenue.
