The superintendent of Wayne Central Schools announced his resignation Thursday, effective June 30.
The district calls the move a "mutual separation agreement."
Dr. Mathis Calvin III posted a statement on the district website, saying he submitted his resignation with “mixed emotions.”
District representatives tell Spectrum News that Calvin's departure is not connected to the investigation into two board members Steve Gallaher and Dennis Landry.
They're accused of going into a closed elementary school building last September without authorization.
The district confirmed Thursday the board is expected to vote on Gallaher and Landry’s future on June 25.
