Four people have been hospitalized after a dump truck filled with asphalt collided with a car and flipped onto it.

It happened at the intersection of Honeoye Falls 6 and Works Road in Rush.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the 19-year-old driver in the car was at a stop sign when he turned in front of the truck, also striking an SUV. The three vehicles came to rest in a ditch, with the dump truck on top.

The 67-year-old SUV driver had to be cut out of his vehicle.

The driver in the car, his passenger, and the dump truck driver were able to get out themselves. Deputies say they're expected to be okay.

Deputies say the dump truck had just been filled with asphalt.

The sheriff's office says charges are pending. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation responded to the scene to help clean up the asphalt and mitigate concerns about a possible fuel spill.
