Quite the celebration was underway Saturday in Ogden for the grand reopening of Barefoot Landing Plaza.
Kids got to interact with firefighters, collect balloons and more, while parents and visitors took home goodie bags.
“It’s important that we just celebrate the community and the families whether you have kids or pets, anybody,” said Barefoot Landing Co-Owner Shelly Marra. “We just invited everybody to come out and realize that it’s all inclusive and not just about the part that burned down but about the entire plaza.”
The plaza, which is located on the outskirts of Spencerport, was ravaged by a major fire that destroyed two businesses, leaving several other neighboring businesses damaged last April.
Business owners within the plaza all contributed in this family-friendly event to celebrate.
Dr. Nicole Clemente, a chiropractor and owner of Rochester Chiropractic & Pregnancy, recalls the fire being the worst day of her life.
“Tears beyond tears and you didn’t know what was going to happen – I’m glad it’s over,” Dr. Clemente said in relief.
