Good news: the dog that went missing after a serious crash in Farmington is back home with its owners.

Mercy Flight responded to a serious crash last weekend that left eight people hospitalized. It happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Route 332 and Route 96.

State police say a vehicle traveling on Route 332 failed to yield the right of way when they attempted to make a left hand turn. They struck another vehicle passing through the intersection.

State police say eight people ranging in ages from 7 to 59 years old were transferred to the hospital with injuries. Phoneouthith Homniyom of Rochester was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Others injured and transported to Strong in the crash are Phone Dumas, Leila Duman, Niran Duman and Jutatip Pimparat of West Henrietta. Eileen Taylor from Springfield, Pennsylvania was transported to FF Thompson Hospital. Justin Homniyom and Malatip Homniyom were also transported to Strong with injuries.

A neighbor said this intersection is a problem area.

"I've seen this probably three times in the past month and a half, maybe not this severe, but there's been accidents up here," said John Loyd, Farmington. "People run 70 mph down 332 heading towards Canandaigua coming off the Thruway they're all pumped up from doing 75, 80 on there and they just keep on going. They need to slow down the traffic coming through here. There's no reason for it to be 50 mph through here. It needs to go down to about 40."

Officials from the Ontario County Sheriff's Office said a dog named Lily went missing following the crash. She was wearing a pink collar that bears a different name, as she was recently adopted.
