Police say a female driver who was killed Wednesday afternoon wasn't wearing a seatbelt when she collided with a disabled truck on Route 390 in Greece.
Shelby Tilson, 25, has been identified as the victim.
“It’s a horrible tragedy and our hearts go out to the family. It appears that she didn’t try to hit her breaks and it appears that she didn’t try to steer out of the way. We don’t know if she had a medical emergency, if she fell asleep, if she was texting or doing something with her phone," New York State Police Trooper Mark O'Donnell.
The accident occurred between Ridge Road and Ridgeway Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
Police say they don't believe rain contributed to the crash.
A witness told Spectrum News that she called 911 to alert police about the disabled truck before the deadly accident.
The occupants of the box truck were outside of the vehicle when the crash occurred and were not hurt.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Shelby Tilson's family with funeral expenses.
