ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester native and Bishop Kearney graduate Pamela Melroy is now serving as the deputy administrator for NASA.
She was nominated for the position by President Joe Biden and was part of Biden's eight-person NASA transition team.
Melroy, who is a graduate of the Air Force, is a former space shuttle commander. She was also recently inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame.
