The second floor studio in Stacey Reed-MacGregor’s home is her slice of sewing heaven. Her wall of fabrics embraces the colors of the rainbow and then some. One thing's for sure, they’re vibrant and make you feel good.
"Having all this colored fabric of course is kind of like something waiting to happen because we never know what you’re gonna put together," said MacGregor.
MacGregor makes totes and handbags and even re-purposes old jeans into something new and useful. She calls herself a textile artisan and her small business is “A Life in Full Bloom”.
"We have to take different things as they come and then turn them into something new," she said.
She's always been a sewer, but this is a second career for the certified social worker. She closed her counseling nonprofit, Petra Place two years ago when she adopted Gabe, 10 and Isaiah, 9.
"I needed to find a new purpose and a new kind of thing to engage in and so that is how life in full-blown came to be," she said. "I have four adult children and they all have families of their own and then we have the boys. Because of that, my life is in full bloom."
Stacey is a believer that your big dream is within your immediate reach and hers is a blend of family, faith, and of course fabric.
