It's turning out to be one of the busiest summers for the boat rental business, as families swap out-of-town summer vacation plans for trips closer to home.

South Bay Boat and Tackle on Irondequoit Bay is offering a great way to soak up the summer with family and friends, and a cooler full of cold drinks and snacks for a day out on Irondequoit Bay.

"Out there is it definitely a nice getaway, it almost feels like you are in another state or in another country out there," said South Bay Boat owner Brandon Alger. 

South Bay Boat and Tackle is having its busiest summer ever. This family-owned business is sending its fleet of two dozen pontoon boats and a couple of fishing boats out on the bay twice a day, seven days a week.

"So it's been pretty crazy, and especially with COVID, so we've been taking extra precautions to make sure that every boat is clean and sanitized," Alger said.

The Pandina family from Greece is ready for a day out on the water.

"These are my in-laws, and we are just staying close to home and heading out on the water today," Jim Pandina said. 

Barb Antczak's family vacation to Europe was canceled, so staycation it is.

"We have done a pontoon boat in Canandaigua, but never here, so again we are trying to stay close to home and I hoping for a realizing ride on the water," Antczak said.
