Rochester and Buffalo were found to be two of the most affordable places to live in the world, according to a study published by Chapman University in California and Frontier Centre for Public Policy in Canada.

Rochester came in at number 2, while Buffalo landed at number 6 on the list.

The Demographia study assembled its rankings by analyzing 94 cities in eight countries. It looked at the income ratio that divides the median house price by the median household income.

  • Edmonton, Alberta
  • Buffalo, New York
  • Detroit, Michigan

Least affordable cities in the world:

  • Hong Kong, China
  • Sydney, New South Wales
  • Vancouver, British Columbia
  • San Jose, California
