Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has announced a series of pilot initiatives that aim to help increase access to affordable housing and support landlords in updating available units across the county.

The initiative offers a housing search navigator, aftercare, landlord incentives, rental repairs and landlord-tenant mediation.

"Over the past four years, we've seen shifts in [the] quality of rental housing," said Bello. "We need transformational initiatives such as these to increase housing units and keep people in quality housing, not just in the city but countywide."

In addition to the four new initiatives, the county is meeting with developers in hopes of building new or renovated affordable housing units.
