Coming back from a knee injury that wiped out part of his senior year, Greg Diakomihalis won his fifth SuperSectional, winning the Division I 120-pound title.

The Hilton senior is trying to become the first five-time NYS Champion in Section 5 history. He went through knee surgery after winning his last State title and missed all of the summer and part of his senior season. He trains with a couple of his teammates along with HF-L senior Anthony Noto. Diakomihalis will join his brother, Yianni, at Cornell next year. The elder of the brothers is currently redshirting to train for the 2020 Olympic Trials. Noto, who won his fourth SuperSectional, also at 120 lbs in Division II, is going for his fourth straight State title before heading to North Carolina State.

30 wrestlers locked up State berths to the New York State Championships in Albany February 28-29. Wildcards will be announced prior to that, with some of the wrestlers who did not win their SuperSectional match earning at-large bids.
