Victor boys lacrosse coach Jim Andre has stepped down after winning four NYS titles with the Blue Devils.
When last season was canceled, his son Will lost out on his final season and with his daughter Alaina having two more seasons, he didn't want to miss her playing.
The Blue Devils won the 2015, 2017 and 2019 Class B State titles and the 2016 Class A title while falling in the 2018 State finals. Over his six year career, Andre posted a career record of 127-23, winning six Section V titles, with nine high school All-Americans and two Academic All-Americans.
Andre said,"I've assembled a great lacrosse staff, we've got a great booster club, we've got great administrators so, top to bottom, I've got outstanding classes, outstanding kids in the Class of 2021, '22, all the way down through seventh grade and so for me, it just seems like the program is in such a great place and I believe the person to take this role as head lacrosse coach, I'm confident, they too are gonna experience success."
He will continue to teach at Victor but hopes to see his sons and his former players play in college.
