Irondequoit native Gerald Drumgoole has chosen the University of Pittsburgh as his next destination in his basketball career.

The 6 foot 5 inch foward announced his commitment on Twitter Monday night.

Last summer Drumgoole transferred from Irondequoit High School to La Lumiere, a basketball powerhouse in Indiana who is currently ranked as the best high school basketball team in the country, according to USA Today.

Before focusing on the hardwood, Drumgoole was also a football star who earned numerous college scholarship offers, but ultimately decided basketball was his path.

"As I continue to live my dream, I want to attend a school where I can help the team and develop into the best basketball player I can possibly be," Drumgoole wrote.

With Drumgoole and fellow Rochester native Isaiah Stewart, La Lumiere has cruised to a perfect 26-0 record this season.
